The Windows Insider previews of the last couple of times have focused mostly on fixing bugs within Windows 10 and bringing out only very few brand-new features. Microsoft released the latest version of the Operating System which has its own stamp. All the previews of this year were being included under Version 1803, which was released in April this year.
The newly built version is titled 1809, which is an indication that the company wishes to finish the project by September. The new version may be available from October onwards.
Version 1809 will be the final one of all the five release by Windows which was codenamed, Redstone. The next release is not expected before April of 2019. It will be codenamed 19H1. It will be named so because Microsoft is choosing to name the versions according to their release dates.
Considering the former releases of Windows with lots of new features, version 1809 will be a small release just like that of version 1803. The current version has mostly focused on improving and fine-tuning the features it already has. This is in contrast to the release in late 2017 which had attractive features like ‘virtual reality support.’ The latest version , 1809, has user interface work- a dark theme is being chosen for the Explorer, and we find that in the operating system more parts are adopting the Fluent design System. The company has also put in efforts to make positive modifications to some other features. One such feature is the latest clipboard which enables devices to get synced. There is a new screenshotting tool as well as a new screen clipping tool.
Promoting and encouraging cooperation between the customer’s smartphone and Windows 10 has been done by Microsoft in the past. To increase the ease and efficiency of this feature they have added Your Phone feature for Android. There is a shortcut created on the desktop to Your Phone as Microsoft is trying to encourage its customers to use it.
There is the addition of new infrastructure which is significant in nature. The console subsystem which is used for command line applications will have better efficiency in cases of SSH remote access. Notepad Editor has been enabled to support Unix Line ending since the text editing control that Notepad is based on has been improvised. One should note that Notepad has not been updated as such in this scenario.
